Author Chris Pforr is an American citizen who divides his time between the Philippines and Seattle, Washington. He is a retired physical therapist and is keenly interested in the Philippines. Chris believes that understanding the Philippine economy is key to understanding Philippine history and the challenges facing the nation today. Those who wish to help the nation gain a solid footing for the future must grasp the economic issues at hand. This is his second book.

Illustrator Wylzter "Wylz" Gutierrez previously illustrated Chris Pforr's first book, Coca-Cola, Krags and Uncle Sam: A Brief History of U.S. Imperialism in the Philippines. He has also designed t-shirts featuring Philippine history. He is currently creating images for a soon-to-be-published children's book. Wylz lives in Pasig City.
