This tutorial is intended for those new to E-books.

There are two requirements:
1. Hardware to read it on.
2. E-book reader software to display the E-book on your hardware.

Each hardware platform has a variety of software applications suitable for E-book reading.

TABLET

A digital tablet provides perhaps the most enjoyable E-book reading experience. They are more-or-less the size of a typical printed book and offer easy-to-read screens. There are many brands of tablets, all of which make fine e-readers.

iPad was the first commercially successful digital tablet and makes an excellent but expensive E-book reader.

Every iPad comes with pre-installed Apple Books, a proprietary Apple e-reading application.

E-READER

An e-reader, also called an e-book reader or e-book device, is a mobile electronic device specifically designed for reading E-books. These were extremely popular for several years but sales have recently dropped off compared to sale of general-purpose digital tablets.

Amazon Kindle

Amazon Kindle is a series of e-readers designed and marketed by the Amazon Corporation, the “500 lb. gorilla” of global E-book sales.
Kindle Reader Kindles cannot read the global standard .ePub format E-books, they can only read the proprietary Amazon .mobi and KF8 formats. Fortunately we've created .mobi and KF8 versions of Development Debacle, available at the download sites.

Nook

Nook is a dedicated E-book reading tablet marketed by Barnes & Noble, the second-largest global E-book seller. Comes with pre-installed NOOK Reading App software. Nook Reader can read either epub or mobi format.
